The average flight time from the US to Johannesburg will depend on where you are flying from, and whether you can catch a direct flight or not.
The average flight time for a direct flight is usually between 14 and 15 hours. Of course, this will be longer with indirect flights.
US citizens visiting Johannesburg do not need a visa if they are traveling for less than 90 days, and are visiting for tourism purposes.
If your visit will exceed this period, then you must apply for a temporary or visitor’s visa before your arrival.
